IT Manager
Background:
Our Client a leading regional healthcare provider serving Northeastern Pennsylvania, is seeking an experienced
IT Manager
to oversee the hospitals technology infrastructure and lead a dedicated IT team in supporting clinical and administrative operations. This individual will play a pivotal role in maintaining and advancing the hospitals digital systems, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability across the network and all mission-critical applications. Project: Provide day-to-day leadership and mentorship to the IT department, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence. Oversee a team responsible for network operations, desktop support, and clinical systems administration. Manage and optimize the hospitals network infrastructure, servers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems to ensure secure, high-availability performance across all departments. Partner with external vendors as needed for network upgrades and maintenance. Serve as the primary point of contact and internal owner for the Athena EMR system, coordinating system updates, integrations, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization to support clinical and billing operations. Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of critical hospital systems and third-party applications. Ensure interoperability between the EMR and other core systems (radiology, lab, pharmacy, etc.). Implement and maintain data security protocols, user access controls, and backup/recovery procedures in alignment with HIPAA, HITECH, and hospital compliance requirements. Collaborate with leadership on IT risk management and audit readiness. Required Skills: Education:
Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Masters degree preferred). Experience:
7+ years of progressive IT experience, including
at least 3 years in a hospital or healthcare system
environment. Proven track record managing
EMR systems (Athena strongly preferred)
and supporting clinical operations. Hands-on experience with
network administration, Windows Server environments, and cybersecurity best practices .
