oversees the safety, reliability, usability, and maintainability of our products, ensuring timely delivery. Our LCE experts collaborate extensively with leadership and customers throughout the product lifecycle, from inception to deactivation. What You'll Do: Join the LCE Safety Engineering Team as a highly motivated Senior System Safety Engineer, contributing to a critical closed area program. Your key responsibilities will include: Developing and executing MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs. Conducting safety-related analyses (management, evaluation, verification) under the MIL-STD-882 framework. Engaging with integrated product teams to effectively mitigate hazards and implement safety controls. Collaborating with customer safety representatives to translate system requirements for software, hardware, and testing teams. Working with Program Management and government representatives from project inception to disposal. Performing comprehensive System Safety planning, hazard analyses, and design evaluations. Presenting safety considerations during technical reviews and throughout the safety approval process. Interpreting specifications, system requirements, and military standards seamlessly. Drafting internal and client reports detailing relevant safety analyses. Collaborating across disciplines to understand and optimize product architecture and design. Interfacing with various engineering functions including Systems, Software, Electrical, and Hardware Engineering. Leading System Safety Working Groups with key Raytheon and customer representatives. Managing work on Special Access Programs. This position is located onsite in Aurora, CO. Qualifications You Must Have: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience. An advanced degree may substitute for additional experience. Experience in Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical, or Firmware Engineering. Current and transferable U.S. government issued Top secret security clearance is mandatory prior to start date. Qualifications We Prefer: Familiarity with DoD System Safety Programs, particularly MIL-STD-882. Experience in system and software safety in Agile Development environments. Demonstrated experience with Human Systems Integration and executing Human Factors Engineering tasks aligned with MIL-STD-1472. Knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and proposal development. Experience with Engineering Change Proposals, Engineering Review Boards, and System Safety Working Groups.
