Sign on Bonus:

$500 to be paid after 90-day probation, remaining $500 to be paid after an additional 90 days

What You'll Do The Direct Support Professional supports individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve a higher quality of life by promoting health, safety and well-being. The role includes acting as an advocate for clients.

Essential Functions

Outline and prepare daily routines for clients (visual and active) as written in the Individual Program Plan (IPP).

Support the needs and goals of each resident by contributing to IPP/ISP goals.

Maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment for clients.

Assist clients with social activities, transportation to visits, and participation in leisure activities.

Assist with personal care as needed (grooming, bathroom needs, clothing).

Prepare daily meals and assist with cleanup.

Transport clients in company vans if necessary.

Report incidents and communicate with administration.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent

At least 1 year of caregiving experience (preferred with individuals with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses with challenging behaviors)

Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2 and CPI (preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months)

First Aid / CPR (preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days)

Must be at least 21 years of age

Must have a California Driver’s License

Pre-employment background check clearance required

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
