This role supports the CAT Electronics team responsible for the validation of wire harnessing, circuit protection, and relay systems. Rather than executing physical testing, this position focuses on enabling successful validation through strategic planning, supplier coordination, and cross-functional collaboration. The specialist plays a key role in ensuring product readiness by aligning validation efforts with customer requirements, supplier capabilities, and internal quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Test Planning Support: Collaborate with test engineers to develop comprehensive validation strategies and test plans that align with product group requirements and supplier capabilities.

Identify potential risks in validation timelines, supply chain readiness, and product integration. Proactively work with stakeholders to develop mitigation plans.

Serve as a liaison between CAT Electronics, tier 1 suppliers, and internal product groups to ensure clear communication of technical requirements, validation expectations, and delivery timelines.

Product Development Coordination: Participate in early-stage product development discussions to ensure validation needs are considered and integrated into design and sourcing decisions.

Assurance of Supply Support: Monitor and support supply chain health for critical components. Address issues related to availability, quality, and compliance in collaboration with buyers and quality engineers.

Documentation & Reporting: Assist in the creation and review of validation documentation, including requirement traceability, supplier test reports, and internal planning artifacts.

Scope of Work

Support the validation of electronic components and harnesses by enabling effective planning and coordination.

Ensure that validation activities are aligned with product group expectations and supplier capabilities.

Facilitate communication and documentation flow between engineering, quality, supply chain, and external partners.

Daily Activities

Attend cross-functional meetings to align on validation priorities and timelines.

Review and refine test plans and requirement documents with engineering teams.

Coordinate with suppliers to confirm readiness and resolve technical or logistical issues.

Track and report on validation progress, risks, and deliverables.

Skills

Bachelor’s in Engineering preferred

Associate degree with significant relevant experience considered

Experience in testing, validation, design
