Overview
Rudin Management Company seeks to hire a highly motivated, dynamic individual to join the company as a Senior Tax Accountant. The ideal candidate’s experience will center around tax compliance and planning for high-net-worth individuals and their related real estate holdings and estate planning vehicles. The Senior Tax Accountant will work to implement a best-in-class tax process including managing the quarterly estimates and annual tax compliance. Another focus will be planning and implementing tax optimization strategies across the firm. Working closely with the Director of Taxation, the Senior Tax Accountant will collaborate with staff across the company. Responsibilities
Prepare quarterly reports and annual tax estimates for individuals, trusts, and underlying real estate entities Collect and track key tax documents and schedules (e.g. K1, 1099, 1098, Sch. H, etc.) Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work Review of forms 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120S & 990PF prepared by outsourced tax provider Ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations, gather information & formulate responses to tax authority inquiries Find solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings Prepare sales & use, and commercial rent tax returns Stay up to date on legislative and regulatory changes and analyze to make strategic recommendations Prepare and maintain tax accrual balance sheet accounts for inclusion in the company’s books and records Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting/finance or a related field is required. CPA preferred 5+ years of tax compliance & planning A strong knowledge of high net worth individual, trust & estate taxation is required, knowledge of real estate and alternative investment tax issues preferred Experience preparing and/or reviewing forms 1040, 1041, 1065, & 1120s Knowledge of NYS & NYC tax concepts Ability to exercise a high degree of diligence is required Working knowledge of Yardi (Voyager) software preferred Proficiency in MS Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Visio/Outlook Strong written & verbal communication skills Strong analytical skillset and focus Seniority level
