Base Pay Range $6,031.00 – $7,547.00 A (Salaried)

Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor), the Senior Accounting Officer (Specialist) independently performs complex accounting duties, primarily focused on reconciling and resolving outstanding billings related to the Intermediate Care Facility-Developmentally Disabled (ICF-DD) Homes. The incumbent carries out professional accounting responsibilities in accordance with Accounting Section guidelines, State Administrative Manual (SAM), Uniform Codes Manual (UCM), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), State Controller’s Office (SCO) policies, and State and Federal laws.

Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of the Personal Leave.

Working Conditions Under Government Code 14200, this position is a hybrid, in‑office/telework role and may be subject to change. The incumbent can be required to report to the office or any designated location at any time. Telework agreements can be modified or cancelled at any time. The incumbent must live and work in California. All commute expenses to the reporting location are the responsibility of the selected candidate.

This position requires lawful authorization to work in the United States. The Department does not sponsor employment visas for this position.

Open‑spaced partitioned office. Computer will be used daily (up to 70%) on the FI$Cal Accounting System and various software applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Word). Must be able to use various office machines: computer, copier, scanner, etc. During peak times, including year‑end processing, leave requests will be limited and approved on a case‑by‑case basis. Work pre‑approved overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.

Department Information The California Department of Developmental Services (Department) provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities, including intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are delivered through state‑operated developmental centers, community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The Department is located in a modern, sustainable office building at 1215 “O” Street, Sacramento, California.
