Overview UCI Health is the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine, and the only academic health system based in Orange County. UCI Health includes the main campus and affiliated hospitals and centers serving a region of nearly 4 million people. The NICU Nurse provides care to newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, attends births, monitors newborn health after birth, and supports families as needed. The NICU Nurse collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes and adheres to regulatory standards and UCI Health policies.
Responsibilities
Attend births and monitor the health of newborns directly after birth.
Administer care to newborns residing in the NICU and provide family education/support.
Maintain high standards of quality, service, critical nursing skills, and critical thinking.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient outcomes.
Adhere to regulatory standards and UCI Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
Current California RN license
Current American Heart Association BLS and NRP certification
At least 1 year of NICU Level III RN experience
Strong customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication in English
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload and establish effective working relationships across the health system
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of University and medical center policies and procedures
