Job Title Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse

Position Summary The NICU Nurse responsibilities include attending births, monitoring the health of newborns directly after birth, administering care to newborn infants residing in the NICU, and providing education and support to families as needed. The NICU Nurse must maintain a high level of quality, service, critical nursing skills and critical thinking; must be skilled in managing complex medical cases and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes; and must be familiar with and adhere to regulatory standards and UCI Health policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Current California RN license.

Current American Heart Association BLS and NRP certification.

At least 1 year of NICU Level III RN experience.

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.

Must demonstrate customer‑service skills appropriate to the job.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
