Overview
Associate Mechanical Engineer - Advanced Power Generation. The role focuses on the design of mechanical systems supporting Advanced Power Generation projects. You will have the opportunity to work with design engineering execution teams across the US and abroad, under general supervision, and contribute to project development and recommendations. Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with various design engineering execution teams across the US and abroad Under general supervision, perform all aspects of mechanical system design engineering and analysis for assigned systems of responsibility Acquire knowledge of both Black & Veatch and industry standards and implement them in project development Prepare moderately complex engineering deliverables, conduct research, and develop project design recommendations Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program in the home country or the country in which the professional is practicing Minimum of 1 year related work experience Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification Preferred Qualifications
Experience in instrument and/or service air systems Demineralized (DM) water supply and make-up systems Service and potable water supply systems Gas supply systems (natural, hydrogen, nitrogen) Closed cycle cooling water systems High/Intermediate/Low/auxiliary steam systems Feedwater and condensate systems CO2 supply systems Pipe sizing, pipe thickness, pump sizing, valve sizing, heat exchanger sizing, tank sizing calculations P&ID development Air, gas, water & steam systems design & engineering experience Work Environment and Schedule
This position typically resides in an office environment with potential site visits requiring physical tasks (crouching, grasping, standing/walking) Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days, based on manager discretion and performance Other
