Construction (QA) Inspector – Airfield/Roadways Pavement Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a QA inspector to perform inspections on airfield runway and roadway pavement improvements in Anchorage, AK.

Responsibilities

Knowledge of airfield runway construction improvements and pavement resurfacing; conduct detailed inspections to ensure workmanship meets contract, plans, and specifications.

Perform and support a three‑phase inspection system.

Provide daily QA reports documenting activities observed on each on‑site day in sufficient detail.

Review and analyze construction contractor progress.

Ensure safety requirements are met, including EM 385‑1‑1 and OSHA requirements.

Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log.

Review design, comment logging and back‑checking; verify accurate as‑built drawings.

Review and comment on the accuracy of the construction contractor’s payment requests.

Maintain an Inspector Site Inspection Report.

Assist in responses for RFIs, modifications, and change orders.

Participate in pre‑final and final inspections; assist in preparing detailed punch lists and ensure all punch list items are corrected prior to final payment.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED with at least 7 years of construction inspection experience in quality assurance for construction contracts, airfield runway improvements, roadways, or pavement resurfacing (preferred).

Associate Degree or Technical Training Degree (two years) with at least 5 years of construction inspection experience in similar work (preferred).

Bachelor of Science Degree with at least 3 years of construction inspection experience (desired).

Paving Inspector Certification from Asphalt Institute required within 30 days of starting date.

Experience with Resident Management System (RMS 3.0) preferred.

Experience enforcing EM 385‑1‑1, OSHA rules, and safety requirements.

Demonstrated experience with quality assurance inspections, submittal review, contractor pay validation, and daily reporting.

Experience with federal construction projects, especially U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, preferred.

Professional presentation, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.
