Overview Positions for an Assistant Professor of English-British Literature are open. This is a security-sensitive position. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, scholarly activity, service, and program development within the department and university.
Required Qualifications
Doctorate in British Literature is required. ABD applicants will be considered, but appointment will be at the instructor rank and all degree requirements must be completed by February 1, 2027.
Two years of teaching experience in British literature or related subjects (graduate student teaching accepted).
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in World Literature or Literary Theory.
Primary Responsibilities
Teaching a 4-4 course load of face-to-face, hybrid, and online undergraduate and occasional graduate courses.
Courses include British literature surveys, Shakespeare, other literature courses, and composition.
Advising students and mentoring English majors’ activities and organizations.
Scholarly research and publication.
Participating in curriculum development and assessment.
Engaging in service to the department, college, and university, and to the community.
Other information: Position is security sensitive. Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times.
