PREP Research Associate
— This position is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Professional Research Experience (PREP) program. PREP centers on collaboration between NIST staff and academic institutions, with PREP awards facilitating joint research. Employees in this position will perform technical work that underpins the scientific research of the collaboration. Work Will Entail
The researcher will help advise research associates on projects related to Public Data Repository (PDR). Responsibilities include advising, monitoring, and managing AI-enabled PDR activities, automating digital assets collection, and creating dynamic visualizations of tabular data in PDR. The role leverages expertise in multidisciplinary science projects, including computer and data science. Key Responsibilities
Advise associates on various technologies Provide expertise in data science, specifically AI and machine learning Guide and monitor the work regularly Meet with NIST staff and engage in discussions Qualifications
A PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field 10+ years of relevant experience Experience in cross-domain data science projects Experience with large-scale data management and analysis Strong oral and written communication skills Application Instructions
