Bechtel is seeking a Cost Engineer for the Port Arthur LNG project. The project scope includes two LNG trains, an LNG storage tank, and related utilities/facilities in Port Arthur, TX.
Job Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis, and cost control activities for projects with non-routine requirements or high technical cost control needs. You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and implement project cost control requirements. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges. Major Responsibilities
Perform non-routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities. Coordinate the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports. Coordinate the development and accuracy of cost reports and ensure consistency with previous reports. Prepare specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures. Investigate requirements for estimating and cost control data; collect and classify cost data. Perform budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction disciplines or groups. Identify cost trends for management attention and prepare cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost/quantity comparisons. Education And Experience Requirements
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience. Required Knowledge And Skills
Experience directing project cost engineering, including cost control and analysis, cost reporting, incurred cost assessment, and meetings. Experience establishing criteria for project controls cost activities and in cost and commitment analysis and incurred cost management. Strong oral and written communication; ability to present Project Controls information to management and clients. Advanced knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup processes as performed by Bechtel.
