Role Summary We are recruiting for a talented
Production Manager
to join our team based in New York, USA. The ideal candidate will be fashion obsessed with strong commercial awareness and entrepreneurial spirit.
Key Responsibilities
Working in collaboration with the CEO, Buyers, Merchandisers and Designers.
Develop, monitor, and manage the production calendar / time & action plan for all product lines, including sampling, approvals, bulk production, finishing, and delivery.
Oversee factories overseas ensuring they meet quality, timeline, cost, and compliance expectations.
Approve and manage budgets, costing negotiations and margin targets.
Ensure tech packs, BOMs, spec sheets, fit comments, and QC reports are correctly implemented and followed by factories.
Conduct sample / fit / pre‑production reviews; implement corrective actions as needed.
Forecast and manage risks: delays, material shortages, compliance or quality issues. Develop mitigation plans.
Lead continuous improvements: cost reduction, efficiency in production, supplier performance, sustainability, waste reduction.
Supervise junior production staff (coordinators, assistants) as applicable.
Monitor and report on key metrics: production status, vendor performance, cost variances, delivery timelines, quality metrics.
Ensure adherence to ethical, social, and environmental standards (e.g. labor laws, factory certifications, sustainable materials).
Effectively coordinate the designers, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure efficient production scheduling and timely delivery of products.
Source and manage relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure high-quality materials and production standards.
Maintain quality control standards throughout the production process to ensure products meet all quality and safety requirements.
Oversee production budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and production is completed and delivered on time and within budget.
Ensure production milestones and deadlines are met, addressing any delays or issues promptly.
Oversee the creation and approval of production samples, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or excesses.
Requirements
At least 5 years experienced in a similar role.
An exceptional understanding of fashion demonstrating the ability to grow a business profitably.
Strong product selection skills, combining data and knowledge/feel to select the right product for the right place.
Strong analytical mind set and ability, with proven experience in an analytical role.
To be able to problem solve & make decisive decisions.
Strong communicator with excellent verbal & written skills, as well as demonstrating excellent relationship management skill.
You have proven ability to build, lead and manage teams.
Ability to manage and prioritise multiple deliverables with hard deadlines.
