IT Asset Management Administrator (Administrator I)
The Maryland Department of Transportation, Secretary’s Office (MDOT TSO) is seeking an IT Asset Management Administrator (Administrator I). This position is responsible for the daily operations of the MDOT IT Asset Management unit, supporting the full IT asset lifecycle—including tagging, distribution, inventory, tracking, disposal, and data management of all MDOT IT assets across sites and modes. The role ensures accurate recording of technical specifications, proper tagging, and accountability for both physical and virtual IT assets. The specialist collaborates with contractors, the MDOT IT team and project managers, finance teams, and modal partners to maintain asset integrity, support installations and maintenance, and deliver accurate reporting. The position also manages asset management systems, develops KPIs, conducts data validation, and recommends process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance. Responsibilities

Education : Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience : Four (4) years of experience in administrative staff or professional work. Selective Qualification : Two (2) years of the required experience must have involved inventory management and control of varied fixed assets, including tracking, maintaining, and ensuring data accuracy throughout the asset lifecycle. Note: No substitutions are allowed for this Selective Qualification. Licenses & Certifications : Employees may be assigned duties requiring a motor vehicle; a Maryland motor vehicle operator’s license is required. Application Notes
