Overview
The merchandising & stocking associate connects all the dots to make sure members can find everything they have on their shopping list. Depending on the shift, responsibilities may include moving inventory in the backroom, unloading trucks, fulfilling club pick-up orders, stocking shelves, and assisting members. The role is fast-paced and physically demanding at times. Responsibilities
Unloading trucks promptly Assisting fellow associates as needed throughout the store Sorting and stocking products on shelves and in the backroom Engaging with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude Maintaining a clean, neat, and member-ready area Filling club pick up orders and staging according to policy What you’ll do
Provides member service by acknowledging the member and identifying member needs; guiding and supporting members regarding self-service technology; assisting with purchasing decisions; locating merchandise; resolving issues and concerns; and promoting company products and services. Maintains facility safety by conducting safety checks; following forklift procedures; handling and disposing of hazardous materials per guidelines; and reporting unsafe conditions to management. Maintains sales floor and merchandise presentation by zoning the area, stocking and organizing merchandise, setting up displays, removing damaged goods, pricing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages. Monitors quality by ensuring product rotation, dating, recalls, and sanitation standards; maintaining prominent display of promotional and seasonal merchandise. Complies with company policies and ethics by applying related action plans and the Open Door Policy in daily practices. Completes work by prioritizing tasks, collaborating with managers and coworkers, meeting deadlines, communicating progress, and adapting to change and feedback. Ensures club pick up orders are filled and staged per policy throughout the day. Live Better U is a company-paid education benefit program for eligible associates; programs range from high school completion to bachelor’s degrees. Tuition, books, and fees are paid for by Walmart.
