Overview
The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering effective training programs that align with the Division’s strategic goals. This hands-on role supports the execution of training initiatives for technical and field-based employees, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs), instructional design, and in-person delivery across field sites. The ideal candidate is a jack-of-all-trades in instructional design and training, willing to travel, and ready to make a direct impact in a dynamic, production-focused environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with SMEs to conduct needs assessments and create effective training solutions for technical, operational, and field roles
Design and develop instructor-led training (ILT), hands-on job training, eLearning modules, job aids, and classroom materials
Ensure content is accurate, engaging, and reflects current operational procedures and safety standards
Continuously revise and update materials to maintain alignment with business and compliance requirements
Deliver hands-on training in field and classroom settings to technical, trades, and labor employees
Facilitate onboarding, safety training, and upskilling programs at CFA facilities and partner sites
Travel to support regional and site-specific training needs (up to 25% domestic travel)
Provide coaching and in-the-moment guidance during on-site training activities
Utilize authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Rise, Captivate, Camtasia) to build and maintain training content
Support LMS administration and course tracking in coordination with the L&D Manager
Leverage digital tools (Zoom, MS Teams, SharePoint) for hybrid and remote learning options
Gather feedback and evaluate training effectiveness to improve learning outcomes
Support standardization of training documentation and E1 processes across the division
Contribute to the implementation of training best practices and new delivery methods
Assist in special projects and cross-functional initiatives related to workforce development
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Training & Development, or related field
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in training design and delivery, ideally in a manufacturing or field environment or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience working with frontline labor/trade audiences preferred
Proven ability to manage multiple training projects in fast-paced environments
Technical Skills
Familiar with LMS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
Skilled in creating visual and written training content using digital collaboration tools
eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Rise, Captivate, Camtasia) is a plus
Soft Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to connect across diverse teams
Problem-solver with high attention to detail and a hands-on approach
Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working independently in field settings
Travel Willingness to travel up to 25% (domestic). Travel includes visits to various Clean Factory Automation facilities and customer sites as needed for training delivery and support. Clean driving record required.
