We currently have a vacancy for an Essential Skills lecturer to work on a fixed term basis (Maternity leave cover) from our Deeside campus. There is also an expectation to deliver some sessions from our Northop and Llysfasi campuses. The successful candidate will be familiar with the Essential Skills Wales (ESW) suite of qualifications which include Essential communication skills, Essential application of number skills and Essential digital literacy skills. Applications are also welcomed from lecturers who are experienced in delivering Functional skills and/or GCSE. In order to be considered for this role, you must have proven experience and competence within English and Maths lecturing and hold the relevant teaching qualifications. As a Lecturer at Coleg Cambria you will be required to provide educational guidance and support for our students as well as ensuring their safety and welfare at all times.
Essential Requirements
A minimum of a Level 5 teaching qualification (e.g Cert Ed/PGCE) or be working towards a Level 5 teaching qualification
Educated to a minimum Level 4 qualification
Knowledge of the broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment
Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching
Recognises and makes students aware of their strengths and development needs
Able to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom
Able to demonstrate a commitment to and awareness of the importance of Safeguarding
Welsh language skills are desirable for this position.
