Position Description
As the
Assistant Golf Course Superintendent , you will work closely with a seasoned GCSAA member and Golf Course Superintendent with over 25 years of experience at six clubs in the state of Massachusetts. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills, contribute to an exceptional private country club experience, and advance your career in the golf industry.
While our primary focus is creating an exceptional experience for our members, we also host a select number of outside functions and outings throughout the year. From golf to dining to special events, our team works together to make sure every guest feels welcome and cared for. Behind the scenes, we’re equally dedicated to running a smooth and professional operation, with strong business practices that support the member experience.
Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Course set-up
Irrigation scheduling, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repair
Staff oversight
Pesticide and fertilizer application
Staff training
Communication with members
Clubhouse and facilities management in coordination with the Superintendent and General Manager
Coordination with all other departments of the club, specifically the Pro Shop
Enforce and follow LeBaron Hills rules and regulations when necessary
Equipment operation
Light mechanical duty
Willing to assist in all areas in order to have a successful golf operation
Experience
A successful candidate should have several years of golf course maintenance experience
Education & Training
Candidate should have achieved at minimum a certificate in Turf Management, Plant, Soil, & Insect Science, or some related field of study. Associate degree and/or Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, but other candidates may be considered
MA state pesticide applicator's license or ability to attain within 60 days of hire
