Job Description This position is for a faculty member in Radiologic Sciences, offered at either an

Instructor (Non‑Tenure Track)

or an

Assistant Professor (Tenure‑Track)

rank. The final title will reflect the applicant’s degree level, teaching experience and research/publication record.

Tenure‑track candidates must meet the College of Health Professions PPM (Policy and Procedure Manual) requirements for teaching, scholarship, and service.

Instructor appointments are temporary, one‑year contracts renewable at the sole discretion of the University.

Responsibilities A. Instruction and Student Evaluation

Didactic and Lab Instruction:

Deliver laboratory and classroom lessons in Radiography and related imaging modalities. Topics align with the candidate’s certifications and clinical expertise.

Pedagogical Excellence:

Employ varied teaching methods to foster independent learning and higher‑order problem‑solving across Certificate, Associate’s, Bachelor’s, and Master’s programs.

Clinical Evaluation:

Assess student performance in both academic courses and mandatory clinical rotations.

Schedule & Delivery:

Provide lab, classroom, and clinical supervision. Scheduling includes mornings, afternoons, and evenings; most courses employ a hybrid delivery model combining virtual, online, and face‑to‑face methods.

B. Professionalism and Collaboration

Communication:

Effectively communicate orally and in writing with students, colleagues, clinical partners, and the broader university community.

Collegiality:

Work harmoniously with students, faculty, administration, and staff across programs and campuses.

Collaboration:

Advance the Radiologic Science program and the College of Health Professions mission, participate in state and national organizations such as USRT and ASRT.

University Standards:

Adhere to University and College PPM policies for teaching, scholarship, and service.

C. Location and Travel (Mandatory)

Primary Campuses:

Weber State University main campus and satellite campuses in Salt Lake City and Provo.

Regional Outreach:

Teaching and clinical evaluation across rural communities in Utah, surrounding states, and nationwide.

Required Travel:

Travel to clinical and teaching sites is mandatory.

Required Qualifications

Education (Instructor):

Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Education (Tenure‑Track):

Master’s degree in Radiologic Sciences (or acceptable equivalent).

ARRT Certification:

Current ARRT certification in Radiography.

Clinical Experience:

Recent and current experience in medical imaging.

Clinical/Technical Skills:

Demonstrated patient care, assessment, and technical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Teaching Experience:

Previous academic teaching and clinical evaluation experience.

Delivery Systems:

Experience teaching in nontraditional delivery systems (hybrid, virtual, evening).

Platform Proficiency:

Experience with Canvas and other university programs.

Advanced Degree:

Doctoral degree or significant progress toward one.

Multi‑Credentialing:

Credentials in additional imaging modalities.

Professional Involvement:

Involvement in organizations such as ASRT, USRT, or similar.
