Overview We’re looking for cooks to work at our fun and casual resort restaurant. We need help with cooking, preparing and seasoning soups, meats, pizzas and so much more. We love creativity and people who love cooking! Help us ensure our standard and special menu entrees look and taste great, and are prepared in a timely manner. Ideal candidates will have prior experience working as a line and prep cook and can quickly memorize how to prepare menu items. We hope you’re able to communicate in a professional way with our entire restaurant and bar team as well as team members from other departments. You also must have a current San Diego County Food Handlers' card, be well-versed in safe, sanitary food handling, follow directions and safety procedures, and report to work on time for scheduled shifts. A willingness to work on whatever needs to get done and a sense of restaurant urgency is also important to successful job performance. Campland on the Bay is open every day of the year and this means you will need to be available to work morning, afternoon or evening shifts on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Responsibilities

Work closely and professionally with our other cooks, bartenders, barbacks, cashiers and runners

Prep and cook (grill, fry, deep-fry, saute, toast or bake) regular and special menu items

Change out fryer grease

Prep adequate quantities of ingredients for upcoming shifts

Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen work areas

Deep clean the kitchen and kitchen equipment as directed

Receive deliveries

Stock food and non-food supplies

Wash dishes, pots and pans and utensils

Open or close the kitchen

Qualifications

Prior experience as a line cook and prep cook

Ability to memorize how to prepare menu items efficiently

Professional communication with restaurant and bar team and other departments

Current San Diego County Food Handlers\' card

Knowledge of safe, sanitary food handling and safety procedures

Ability to report to work on time for scheduled shifts

Willingness to take on tasks as needed and maintain restaurant urgency

Available to work morning, afternoon or evening shifts on weekdays, weekends and holidays

Physical/Work Environment We operate in a kitchen environment with equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, fryer, grill, pizza oven and chef’s knives. Cooks are frequently exposed to heat, steam and noise. The physical demands include constant standing, reaching, lifting, and holding objects. Occasional stooping, pushing and pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions are required.
