Job Description RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide full service law enforcement and physical security functions to members of the Western Illinois University community.

HOURLY WAGE: $30.64

Requirements
High school graduation or equivalent
Possession of a valid driver’s license
No record of conviction of a felony or misdemeanors under the Illinois Police Training Act (50 ILCS 705 et seq.) or a crime involving moral turpitude
Eligibility for bonding, if required by the employing institution
Successful completion of the Basic Law Enforcement Officers’ Training course as prescribed by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training & Standards Board, and passing the Law Enforcement Officers’ Certification Examination if required
At least 21 years of age upon employment
Lateral Transfers
Successfully completed at least 2 years of employment as a full‑time sworn and certified law enforcement officer
Holder of certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) or eligible for such certification
Must not have been suspended for disciplinary reasons by the current or most recent employer
Appointed officers must have been employed as sworn police officers within the past 24 months
