Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly; respond to questions/concerns quickly, effectively, and courteously; assist guests with gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items; apply selling behaviors during every transaction and thank guests for shopping at GameStop; circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases/returns accurately using a POS system; provide receipts and ensure top-notch guest service. Respond to guest comments or questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager when appropriate. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, including new title reservations, trade-in, and Pro Rewards programs. Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations for store associates and training in policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines. Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to ensure alignment with guest service expectations. Provide recognition and feedback to store associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager. Ensure onboarding, job training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; knowledge of policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocols, and ethical responsibilities. Schedule store associates to follow guidelines; supervise staffing to maintain high-quality guest service. Approve payroll, manage paid time off and time entries, and verify time worked. Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Fulfill Omni-Channel orders and ship daily. Protect company assets via inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing; report concerns to the Store Manager. Support sales targets, profit goals, and shrink reduction; complete required administrative duties. Perform store inventory counts and restock merchandise; ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor. Balance daily transactions in the POS system and complete closeout paperwork; manage cash and bank deposits according to guidelines. Verify shipments for discrepancies; record discrepancies and coordinate with Store Manager/District Manager; conduct inventories as needed. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls; ensure proper labeling and packing lists. Maintain associate and guest safety; report injuries per guidelines. Maintain store records; keep manuals up to date. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the Store Manager’s absence. Adhere to GameStop policies and the Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct; follow opening and closing procedures. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred. At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred. At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills. Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills; English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change. Work independently and in a team; complete tasks timely. Meet performance expectations in attendance, appearance, safety, and workplace respect. Operate Point-of-Sale (POS) system; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Complete required paperwork accurately and follow written or verbal instructions. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum of 3 days/week availability. Resilience under pressure; problem-solving and creativity in guest interactions. Reliable and trustworthy; exercise good judgment. Able to work alone; stand and move for extended periods (up to 12 hours). Physical capability to bend, lift up to 30 lbs, and perform related duties.
