Summary

Virginia Transformer, the largest U.S.-based manufacturer of power transformers, is seeking a

Senior Human Resources Generalist

to support our Rincon, GA plant operations. This role is a critical HR partner for plant leadership, driving employee engagement, compliance, and talent management in a high-growth manufacturing environment. The Senior HR Generalist will serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers, ensuring fair and consistent HR practices while aligning plant-level initiatives with corporate policies and goals. The role balances strategic contributions with hands-on execution in recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and workforce development.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations & Engagement

Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on workplace matters, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution. Conduct investigations, document findings, and recommend fair, consistent outcomes. Partner with plant leadership to foster a culture of respect, accountability, and high performance. Recruitment & Onboarding

Manage hourly hiring for plant roles, partnering with supervisors to understand workforce needs. Support salaried recruitment efforts in coordination with the Corporate Talent Acquisition team. Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to drive strong early engagement and reduce turnover. HR Compliance & Policy Administration

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (EEOC, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, etc.). Administer HR policies consistently and document appropriately. Support I-9, E-Verify, background checks, and other compliance processes. Performance & Development

Support performance review processes and coaching for managers. Identify training needs and coordinate workforce development initiatives. Promote succession planning, cross-training, and internal mobility at the plant. Provide guidance on pay practices and partner with Corporate HR on compensation decisions. Serve as a resource for employees on benefits enrollment, leaves of absence, and wellness programs. HR Operations & Reporting

Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS (UKG/Kronos). Track HR metrics such as turnover, retention, absenteeism, and time-to-fill. Prepare reports and insights for plant and corporate leadership. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in manufacturing. Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor law, and compliance requirements. Proven track record of handling employee relations and investigations with fairness and discretion. Experience supporting hourly and salaried recruitment in a plant environment. Proficiency in HRIS systems (UKG/Kronos preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic HR support. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
