Overview

Beacon Hill's client has an opening for an experienced Workers' Compensation Paralegal to join its Delaware Workers' Compensation group. The candidate will work a hybrid schedule in their New Castle, DE office. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and procedures. Responsibilities

Assist attorneys in managing a high-volume caseload of workers' compensation cases from inception to resolution. Obtain medical records (via subpoenas), draft medical chronologies, and work with experts. Draft legal documents, including petitions, motions, discovery requests, medical summaries, etc. File legal documents with state workers' compensation boards or courts in accordance with local rules. Organize and maintain client files, ensuring all records are up to date and properly stored. Review and summarize medical records, and other case documentation. Provide litigation support, as needed. Meet a daily time billing requirement. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications

2+ years of Paralegal experience, preferably in workers' compensation. Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program preferred. Experience with time entries and billing to meet a daily billable hour requirement. Familiarity with workers' compensation concepts, terminology, and procedures. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload. Effective communication with cross-functional teams of attorneys, legal staff, court staff, clients, expert witnesses, etc. Ability to perform legal research; experience with Lexis is a plus. Familiarity with reviewing and obtaining medical records, follow-up, meeting deadlines, organizing medical records, preparing medical index, and discovery production processes. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work well independently and collaborate in a team. Equal Opportunity
