Facilities Coordinator

Major Responsibilities:
Monitors and organizes subcontractor activities, through coordination and instruction of subcontractor’s management staff within the area of responsibility.
Role supports on mid-size projects of medium to high complexity with multiple stakeholders’ involvement.
Planning
Monitors subcontractor construction schedules, resource charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Reviews subcontractor construction methods, schedules, manning charts, and material and equipment requirements.
Coordinates the construction operations impact on external interfaces to ensure they coincide with the overall established schedules.
Safety / Quality
Monitors installation of materials and equipment to assure conformance with drawings, specifications, vendor, and other requirements
Enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction management.
Technical
Supports Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents
Coordinates engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals.
Coordinates with Design on constructability issues.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience, or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills: Basic skills:
Strong working knowledge of public works construction contracting practices
Advanced knowledge of construction inspections and field document control
Intermediate to advanced expertise in electrical and plumbing systems
Advanced proficiency in safety and health compliance
Intermediate to advanced skills in web-based work order processing
Experience in maintenance of public facilities (e.g., rail stations, bus stations, toll offices)
Knowledge of backup power systems, including generators and automatic transfer switches (ATS)
Understanding of pavement management, assessment, and maintenance practices
Familiarity with stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) and best management practices
Preferred Skills:
Prior experience in building maintenance management
Familiarity with local contractors in the Riverside County area
Knowledge of HVAC, fire suppression, and specialized building systems
Experience with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) compliance and audits
Experience developing technical specifications for facilities and infrastructure projects
Background in landscaping infrastructure management, including xeriscaping and sustainable landscape practices
Track record of identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives and energy efficiency improvements
Experience with strategic facilities planning and master plan development
