Summary Under limited supervision, perform skilled journeyman-level work including maintenance, construction, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial and commercial electrical systems. Key systems include service entrances, main switchgear, panel boards, conduits, grounding equipment, transfer switches, UPS units, emergency generators, lighting, low‑voltage, DC systems, variable frequency drives, and related electronic equipment. Maintain a strong understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, and Sri Environmental Work requirements.

What You'll Do

Use hand and power tools, electrical test equipment, and IR cameras to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair building lighting and electrical systems.

Install conduit, panel boards, disconnects, breakers, conductors, light fixtures, outlets, switches, transformers, and related equipment according to project drawings, manufacturer instructions, and NEC requirements.

Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical and control systems for HVAC and mechanical equipment.

Troubleshoot and maintain emergency generators, transfer switches, and UPS units.

Conduct infrared inspections of electrical components.

Maintain and prepare maintenance records, electrical schematics, and as‑built drawings.

Read installation drawings, schematic diagrams, manufacturer manuals, troubleshooting guides, wiring diagrams, and disassembly instructions.

Inspect, test, and repair circuit breakers and set trip curves.

Perform basic maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and plumbing systems.

Direct work of coworkers or contractors on maintenance, repair, or construction activities.

Demonstrate knowledge of NEC requirements and NFPA 70E regulations.

Ensure safety of self and others while performing duties.

Provide technical support and training to other job classifications.

Prepare accurate cost estimates and project schedules for multi‑discipline jobs.

Work schedule may include rotating 2nd shift, on‑call work, seasonal weekend shifts, occasional mandatory overtime, and occasional travel.

Other duties as assigned, maintaining effective working relationships with coworkers, customers, and the public.

Certifications and Requirements

Respirator C, man lift and bucket truck, forklift, and IR Level I certification within 6 months.

Completed a recognized journeyman‑level Electrician training program or equivalent experience.

Equivalent experience: AA degree (electrical emphasis) + 5 years of journeyman‑level work.

Infrared Level I certification required.

Valid Arizona driver’s license required.

Experience 3 to 5 years as an Electrician or an O&M 3 T/A – Electrical, or equivalent experience.

Education High School, GED, or equivalent.

Hybrid Workplace SRP offers a hybrid workplace allowing employees who can telework up to three days per week, provided they live and work in Arizona.

Drug/Alcohol Policy SRP maintains a drug/alcohol‑free environment. Candidates who fail post‑employment drug/alcohol testing may be disqualified.
