Location Details Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Department Information As a research-driven, student-centered department, the English Department promotes the study of what is unique regarding human expression to empower students to understand who they are and how they should live. The department offers degrees in English (BA), English Education (BS), and Professional Writing (MA), with core programs in First-Year Composition and General Education Literature. The college houses the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities & Social Sciences, with more than 80 graduate and undergraduate programs and a focus on workforce readiness in the humanities and social sciences.
Job Summary Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer in the Department of English. This nine-month contracted position has a preferred start date of August 2026 and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
Teaching General Education courses in First-Year Composition.
Teaching a 5/4 load with university service obligation (90% teaching, 10% service).
Teaching via face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities. The preferred modalities for First-Year Composition are face-to-face and hybrid.
Assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Qualifications
Required
– A minimum of a Master’s Degree, or the foreign equivalent, in English or a closely related field is required at the time of hire.
Required
– A record of effective college/university teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated skill teaching college composition with at least three years of teaching experience.
Preparation to teach via varied modalities.
Graduate training in rhetoric and composition.
Familiarity with and application of High Impact Practices (HIPs).
Experience teaching multimodal writing.
