Job Title: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Marketing Position Type: Faculty Overview

The Walter and Virginia Johnson School of Business at McMurry University invites applications for a tenure-track, Assistant/Associate/Full Professor position in Marketing to begin Fall 2026. Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses in marketing, such as Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, and Marketing Research. Maintain a teaching load of 12 credit hours per semester, with the opportunity to teach summer courses. Teach a range of marketing courses at the undergraduate level; all areas of marketing will be considered, with particular interest in digital marketing and e-commerce. Engage in scholarly research and publish work to contribute to the school’s recognition. Advise students and student organizations and participate in service activities for the School, University, and Abilene community. Qualifications

PhD or DBA in Marketing, Economics (with marketing/advertising or business administration), or a related field by July 2026. Persons with an MBA and 18 graduate credits in Marketing, along with work experience, will be considered. Teaching experience is highly desirable; professional work experience in marketing or related fields outside of academia is welcome. Ability to teach a range of marketing courses at the undergraduate level; particular interest in digital marketing and e-commerce. Location

McMurry University is a liberal arts university predominantly offering bachelor’s degrees in business, nursing, humanities, social and natural sciences, and education, with in-person and online instruction. The university has experienced growth in enrollment, reaching 4,144 students in Fall 2025. The student-to-faculty ratio is 13:1, offering intimate classroom experiences and individualized mentorship. Teaching and Service Expectations

Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate courses such as Principles of Marketing, Consumer Behavior, and Marketing Research. A stream of high-quality research output is expected. Faculty members also advise students and student organizations, in addition to other typical service activities for the School, University, and Abilene community. Special Conditions for Eligibility
