Represent clients in a wide range of criminal defense matters, including misdemeanors and felonies. Prepare and argue motions, conduct legal research, and draft pleadings. Appear in court for arraignments, hearings, plea negotiations, and trials. Conduct client interviews and maintain consistent, clear communication throughout each case. Analyze case law, statutes, discovery, and evidence to formulate strong defense strategies. Negotiate plea agreements with prosecutors when in the best interest of the client. Assist with jury selection, prepare witnesses, and conduct trial advocacy. Travel to courts across Alabama to represent clients in various jurisdictions as needed. Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active license to practice law in Alabama and in good standing with the Alabama State Bar. Minimum of 2–4 years of experience practicing criminal defense. Strong litigation, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills. Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage a demanding caseload independently. Exceptional legal research, writing, and communication skills. Passionate about criminal defense and committed to protecting the rights of the accused. Willingness to travel statewide for court appearances, client meetings, and hearings. Compensation & Benefits
Starting Salary: $65,000–$80,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Gas reimbursement provided for work-related travel across Alabama.
