The
Assistant Project Manager
is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in the management of the construction project to be performed and completed under budget, while exceeding expectations for quality and safety, in addition to building positive relationships with the Owner and design professionals.
Assist the PM with submittals, RFI's drawing, project documentation, client communication, production and cost tracking, and other tasks delegated by the PM.
Draft commitments to subcontractors and suppliers for approval by the PM.
Write subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and proposals for approval by the PM.
Develop, maintain, and update project schedule with PM.
Assist PM with weekly meetings with Superintendent and subcontractors.
Manage and develop punch lists at the direction of the PM.
Coordinate with the Superintendent to ensure jobsite needs are being met.
Take the necessary steps to further construction management knowledge to advance career to the PM level.
Requirements:
Bachelors' Degree in Construction Management, Civil or Building Engineering, or related degree.
2+ years' project engineering experience on large, new commercial construction projects.
Ability to read and understand construction specific documents.
Experience with project scheduling software.
