What You Will Do The MSS-TA55 Group delivers critical maintenance services to FOD 1 and is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of facility maintenance at the TA-55 Plutonium Processing Facility, a key asset in support of LANL's national security mission.

As the Maintenance Scheduling Manager, you will lead the MSS Scheduling Team and Work Week Coordination Team, ensuring seamless integration of the MSS-TA55 schedule with all broader operational schedules, including alignment with the Critical Demand Schedule.

You will play a key leadership role in developing and refining the schedule management process, including planning and execution schedules, resource loading, material tracking, critical path analysis, milestone tracking, and cost integration. This position will also be instrumental in shaping the Work Week Management Program at TA-55, helping define and implement processes and procedures while ensuring the continued success of daily scheduling operations.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the central point of coordination within MSS for the responsible T-week, directly influencing maintenance milestones and ensuring alignment with production deliverables.

Lead a team of schedulers and coordinators to ensure and support schedule development, readiness, and execution milestones in conjunction with responsible managers.

Coordinate with organizational stakeholders across multiple missions to manage integrated schedules in a multidisciplinary facility.

Lead schedule management meetings, present schedule performance and metrics to MSS management, and serve as the primary spokesperson on scheduling issues to senior program and facility management.

Oversee Work Week Coordinators and Project Controls Specialists in managing the rolling T-week process, coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities across assigned facilities.

Maintain familiarity with the rolling T-week schedule to ensure timely and efficient execution of T-0 work activities.

Minimum Job Requirements Leadership:

Proven track record of effective team leadership, including supervision, mentoring, conflict resolution, employee motivation, and professional development. Demonstrated ability to lead diverse technical teams in a dynamic environment.

Scheduling Expertise:

Extensive knowledge and experience with advanced scheduling tools such as Primavera P6. Strong technical understanding of schedule integration, dependencies, and critical path management across complex systems.

Process Improvement:

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement new scheduling methods and continuous improvement initiatives. Proven success driving changes and innovation in evolving organizational environments.

Communication:

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief leadership, lead discussions, and present to large audiences. Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external oversight bodies.

Education/Experience:

Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 5 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

DOE Order 426.2 Minimum Requirements:

Position requires a bachelor of science degree in engineering or related science, and 4 years nuclear experience. Education or experience that is job related may be substituted on a case‑by‑case basis. The degree may be used to substitute up to 50 percent of the experience requirement.

Desired Qualifications

Active Q Clearance.

Understanding of the DOE/Laboratory's maintenance and facility policies, practices, and procedures.

Experience in Facility Operations, Engineering and/or Maintenance.

Nuclear Facility Experience, specifically LANL TA-55.

Experience in Project Management.

Prior Work Week Management Experience.

Work Location The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Work Schedule Work schedule may require off‑shift duty to support the TA-55 24/7 operations schedule.

Position Commitment Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details Directive 206.2 -

Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2. Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

Clearance: Q

(Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

426.2:

This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities, which establishes entry‑level requirements to ensure candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.

New‑Employment Drug Test:

The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new‑employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre‑offer.

Regular Position:

Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular‑status positions are converted to regular status.

Internal Applicants:

Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the required period of continuous service, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. Incentive Compensation Program:

Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
