Summary : The Radiation Therapist role is responsible for the monitoring and calibrating of machine functions, instruction of students, and shielding and positioning of patients as prescribed in the individual treatment plan. Responsibilities
Monitor and calibrate radiation therapy machines to ensure accurate treatment delivery according to the treatment plan. Position and shield patients as prescribed to protect healthy tissue and achieve treatment goals. Instruct and mentor students as part of the clinical education program. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, physics, chemistry, radiation safety as well as radiation therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment and safety and health precautions at a level generally acquired through completion of an approved 2-year program in Radiation Therapy Technology required. License/Certifications:
Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy and current applicable state(s) license as a Radiation Therapist through the ARRT required. Experience:
Proficiency in performing radiation therapy treatments generally acquired through on-the-job training and experience required. Benefits and Additional Information
