Educator Preparation is built on partnerships with local school districts using a Professional Development School (PDS) Model. This model provides opportunities for future teachers to gain valuable classroom experience earlier than traditional teacher licensure models. The Educator Preparation Program offers teaching endorsement areas in the following: Birth – age 8: Early Childhood Education Kindergarten – 6th grade: Elementary Education (In Development) Secondary: 6th – 12th grade: Agriculture & Natural Resources, Business/Marketing, English Language Arts, Family & Consumer Sciences, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Technology Education The Early Childhood undergraduate program is a collaboration with the Department of Human Development and Family Studies and the School of Education. Tenure/Tenure Track: No Position Summary The Early Childhood Education Assistant Professor position is a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track faculty role. Responsibilities include leadership of undergraduate and masters Early Childhood programs (birth – 8 years), teaching early childhood education courses, advising undergraduate and masters students, and building/maintaining school partnerships. The role requires collaboration with local school district partners to connect preservice and in-service teacher development. There are opportunities to teach within the Educator Preparation programs with emphasis on Early Childhood and Elementary Education. A successful applicant will bring innovative ideas for future teacher preparation, a commitment to asset-based pedagogical approaches, and willingness to serve in a broad range of roles to support the department and program growth. Conditions of Employment: Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires). Required Job Qualifications At least three years of Birth–6th grade teaching and/or leadership experience Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in early childhood education or related field. Degree must be conferred by the start date. Experience teaching, mentoring, and/or supervising university-level preservice teachers Must have a valid driver’s license or access to one by the employment start date Preferred Job Qualifications Experience teaching and/or leadership with Birth-8-year-old learners Experience enacting humanizing or culturally sustaining pedagogical frameworks in early childhood settings Experience coordinating within an educator preparation program Evidence of successful collaboration with childcare, preschool, and/or elementary school teachers and administrators Experience in innovative instructional design and/or curriculum development Area of expertise (e.g., CLD, literacy, special education, mathematics) to support future teachers Application Instructions

Teaching (60%) Teach undergraduate and masters courses within the School of Education’s Early Childhood educator preparation program, based on program needs and the selected applicant's strengths Teach additional courses in the Elementary Education educator preparation program as needed Teach the equivalent of 18 credit hours per academic year Advising (10%) Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students Service (25%) Serve as faculty coordinator for the Early Childhood program, including leading curriculum revision, vertical alignment, and collaboration across instructors/courses; maintain and expand relationships with school partners Coordinate, track, and support adjunct and site-based instructors in Early Childhood programs Serve on relevant committees to support unit, school, college, and university missions, including related local and state activities Research (5%) Support Educator Preparation and the School of Education through relevant scholarship References & Supplemental
