The Behavioral Health department provides
comprehensive inpatient psychiatric and mental health services
for adult and geriatric populations, with a strong focus on
patient safety, compassion, and evidence-based treatment .
Position Overview The
Director of Behavioral Health
oversees all clinical and administrative operations within the inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. This leader ensures compliance, fosters a culture of accountability and compassion, and drives continuous improvement in patient care outcomes. You’ll be a key member of the hospital’s leadership team—responsible for
departmental budgeting, regulatory readiness, staff mentorship, and strategic program growth
in behavioral health.
Key Responsibilities Lead, develop, and mentor nursing and clinical teams to deliver safe, high-quality behavioral health care. Ensure all services comply with
state, federal, and Joint Commission
standards. Manage
departmental budget , productivity, and resource allocation. Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and administrative teams to enhance program efficiency and patient outcomes. Develop and monitor
quality improvement initiatives
and performance metrics. Oversee and maintain readiness for
audits, accreditation, and surveys. Drive employee engagement and promote a culture of teamwork and accountability.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree preferred. License:
Active RN license (Compact or FL state license required). Experience: Minimum
5 years of recent inpatient Behavioral Health leadership
in an acute care or hospital setting. Proven success in staff supervision, performance management, and budget oversight. Familiarity with
behavioral health regulations and accreditation
standards. Certifications: BLS – required within 30 days of hire CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – required within 90 days of hire
What to Expect Schedule:
Monday–Friday (Day Shift), with occasional administrative call as needed. Environment:
Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit with adult and geriatric patient populations. Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Team Size:
40–50 clinical and support staff members.
Compensation & Benefits Annual Salary Range:
