Position Summary
The Facility Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, efficient working environment across Jet Aviation's Teterboro, NJ location. This role includes cleaning the designated hanger areas, removing debris, and ensuring all spaces are orderly. We emphasize the importance of maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in facility maintenance, custodial services or a similar role preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and experience with basic hand and power tools.
Must hold a valid driver's license.
Fluent in English, with strong verbal and reading skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules hours and in various weather conditions, including day and night shifts.
Experience operating large machinery is preferred but not required.
Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
Available and willing to support the team by actively participating in snow removal efforts.
Main Responsibilities
Facility Upkeep: Maintain optimal utilization and appearance of all facility areas, tenant spaces and common areas. Including routine cleaning, waste removal, and ensuring all spaces are organized.
Inspections and Maintenance: Conduct regular, detailed inspections of assigned areas and perform ongoing maintenance to ensure proper facility functioning and prevent operational disruptions.
Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance:Perform and/or arrange for all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on GSE to ensure safety and operational practices.
Space Management:Proactively assess facility needs, identify areas of improvement, and provide recommendation plans for physical space requirements.
Tenant Support:Respond professionally and promptly to tenant needs and maintenance requests, ensuring a high level of customer service.
Safety and Compliance:Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, while assisting in maintaining a safe work environment by identifying and reporting potential hazards.
Company Representation:Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network as needed.
Work Environment/ Physical Demands
The characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. Employee may be lifting or moving heavy objects up to 50 lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart.
The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.
Work Schedule and Compensation
Aviation operates on a dynamic schedule-things can change fast, and our success depends on team members who can adapt. We are looking for team members who thrive in a dynamic, around-the-clock operation and are open to working a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the operation, customers, and crews.
We formally operate 24 hours daily, 7 days weekly.
Sunday - Thursday 6:00 am - 2:00 pm will be the initial assignment, with the potential for changes over time as our business needs and opportunities evolve.
This position is non-exempt, with a base pay range of $27 - 30 per hour (equivalent to 56,000 - 62,000 annually), plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus of up to 5% of annual salary. Salary ranges may vary by regional location and do not include premiums.
