Finally, being patient-centered, we prioritize the needs and well-being of those we serve, striving to exceed expectations and make a meaningful difference in their lives.A day in the life of this role:Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Technician performs many related functions under the direct supervision of the licensed pharmacist, including performing pharmaceutical calculations and data entry of prescriptions to be dispensed. The Certified Pharmacy Technician is the point of contact with Outer Cape Health Services ("OCHS") patients and is expected to provide exceptional customer service in a timely and caring manner, answering any billing or medication questions, thereby driving a positive patient experience.Summary of duties:Assist in the preparation of prescription medications, including measuring and counting pharmaceutical preparations.Perform pharmaceutical calculations as it relates to prescription dispensing and billing.Enter prescription information into the pharmacy software system, verify, details, and assist with the insurance billing process.Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and answering questions.Manage medication inventory, including ordering supplies, receiving shipments, and organizing stock.Check and remove outdated medications on a routine basis to ensure that no deteriorated meds are in stock. Keep records appropriately.Prepare returns to wholesalers in a timely manner.Perform cycle counts to ensure integrity of medication inventory.Answer telephone courteously, address customer inquiries and refer patients to pharmacist as deemed necessary.Collects payments and reconciles the register at the end of the day following established procedures.Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and standards.Ensure compliance with all OCHS policies and procedures.Maintain accurate prescription records and other pharmacy transactions for regulatory compliance and quality assurance.Other related duties and projects as assigned.QualificationsRegistered and Certified Pharmacy Technician license (recommended)1 + years' pharmacy technician experience preferredAbility to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasksExcellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, organizational abilities, computer experience, and the ability to work within a collaborative team setting.Proficient with pharmacy software and technologyProficiency in computer skills including EPIC, Outlook, Microsoft office, OneDriveKnowledge of pharmacy terminology, practices, and proceduresExcellent judgment and ability to solve problems in a timely manner.Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality standards.Demonstrated ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently.Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally diverse and inclusive environment
