Responsibilities
Lead business development efforts and secure new work.
Deliver a specified amount of work and oversee group profit & loss performance.
Actively manage projects in a hands‑on role.
Build and manage a team of project managers, assistant project managers, and project engineers, as approved by the President.
Provide technical and administrative support to all employees.
Oversee overall delivery of group projects and corporate safety program.
Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures.
Build and manage own book of business for the group.
Lead pre‑construction services and overall responsibility for estimates and bids.
Participate in project buyouts and kickoff meetings.
Allocate projects to staff, oversee project management process, and manage submittal, RFI, and closeout processes.
Recommend staffing, development needs, position evaluations, and compensation.
Coordinate project mobilization, demobilization, and equipment needs.
Work with accounting to resolve all project cost issues.
Visit job sites, attend subcontractor progress meetings, and owner meetings.
Assist project managers and superintendents with issue resolution.
Conduct monthly project reviews with each project manager/team member.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
15+ years of commercial construction experience at a general contractor.
Minimum 10 years as a project manager supervising project teams.
Extensive commercial tenant improvement experience with P&L responsibility (life science, biotech, advanced technology, healthcare, and/or pharmaceutical projects preferred).
Advanced knowledge of commercial construction estimating, methods, accounting, LEED certification, and industry practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (Procore), estimating software (Bluebeam), and scheduling software (MS Project).
