The Department of Cardiology at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a cardiologist who is BC/BE in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation to join our team. J1 visa opportunities available through FLEX Waiver. About the Team
We have a group of 6 staff physicians, 5 mid-level providers, and a 7th year advanced heart failure fellowship position. The Advanced Heart Failure team currently performs approximately 35 LVAD implantations and 25‑30 heart transplants per year. The candidate would join a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate expertise in all aspects of Advanced Heart Failure, including inpatient, outpatient, and outreach services. Additionally, the team runs a well‑formed amyloidosis clinic, a hypertrophic cardiomyopathy clinic, and a pulmonary hypertension clinic certified by the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. We also support a cardiogenic shock initiative that is multidisciplinary in approach and expanding throughout the state and the Gulf South region. Responsibilities
Join a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists and mid‑level providers. Provide inpatient, outpatient, and outreach care for advanced heart failure patients. Participate in the amyloidosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and pulmonary hypertension clinics. Contribute to the cardiogenic shock initiative across the region. Engage in an academic environment with a strong cardiology fellowship. Qualifications
Board certified or board eligible (BC/BE) in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation. Experience or interest in advanced heart failure management, LVAD, heart transplant, or related procedures. Commitment to academic collaboration and patient education. Application Process
