Summary The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for driving new business growth and maximizing revenue through the cultivation of strong relationships with third‑party meeting planners, agencies, and key accounts. This role focuses on strategic account development, acquisition, and proactive prospecting to position the hotel as a preferred partner within targeted markets and industries. In addition to maintaining existing accounts, the Senior Sales Manager will identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities while serving as a trusted liaison between clients, the Sales team, and hotel operations to ensure flawless execution and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Proactively source and develop new group business opportunities through consistent prospecting, networking, and 3rd‑party meeting planner engagement.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with national and regional 3rd‑party planners, intermediaries, and industry partners to drive repeat and referral business.
Strategically manage assigned accounts and market segments to grow share, increase production, and expand the hotel’s visibility within key channels.
Attend industry trade shows, client events, and sales missions to build meaningful partnerships and position the property as a top‑of‑mind destination.
Create and execute targeted account development plans designed to penetrate new verticals and capture incremental revenue.
Collaborate with Revenue Management and Marketing to identify opportunities for rate growth, compression strategies, and need‑period business.
Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management while tracking production against established revenue goals.
Lead client site visits, presentations, and negotiations with a focus on closing new business and strengthening long‑term relationships.
Partner cross‑functionally with internal departments to ensure smooth communication and seamless event execution from proposal to post‑event recap.
Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to support departmental projects, reporting, and the professional development of junior team members.
Stay current on competitive market trends, local demand drivers, and brand initiatives to align strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
Represent the hotel and brand with professionalism and integrity at all times.
Consistently deliver exceptional customer service to internal partners and external clients.
Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and follow‑up skills while balancing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications
Minimum 3–5 years of hotel sales experience with a proven track record in 3rd‑party and intermediary relationship management.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
Highly self‑motivated with demonstrated success in prospecting and account acquisition.
Experience using CRM/sales systems (Delphi, CI/TY, etc.) and data‑driven account planning.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to consistently achieve or exceed budgeted sales revenue and quarterly production goals through focused, strategic selling efforts.
