Job Description

Required Education/Experience • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field • Minimum 10+ years of IT experience • Minimum 5+ years of application development experience in a Microsoft environment

Preferred Licenses/Certifications • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certification • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Agile certification

Required Qualifications • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and maintain enterprise frameworks across multiple technology stacks • Proven experience supporting production systems, troubleshooting performance issues, and driving root cause analysis • Strong understanding of agile and DevOps methodologies • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams • Experience coordinating release planning, resource allocation, and cross-functional initiatives

Preferred Qualifications • Experience in financial services, insurance, or related regulated industries • Experience working with offshore teams and vendors • Hands-on experience with Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) tools and Microsoft BizTalk Server • Proven ability to mentor, guide, and lead technical teams within an agile environment

Required Technical Skills • Microsoft .NET Framework and C# development • Microsoft BizTalk Application Server configuration and support • Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) or Azure DevOps for source control and CI/CD pipelines • Development of architectural designs using modeling techniques such as UML, flowcharts, or equivalent tools • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, system integration, and application frameworks

Preferred Technical Skills • Knowledge of cloud-based integration patterns (Azure Service Bus, Logic Apps, etc.) • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) • Familiarity with API management, microservices, and modernization of legacy systems • Working knowledge of automated testing frameworks and continuous delivery pipelines

The System Architect (SA) is responsible for designing and building technically complex frameworks to support application development. Additionally, the SA acts as a mentor for application developers both inside and outside of their section and department, guiding the developers on best practices for application development. The SA is expected to have broad experience in technology, with a deep foundation in Microsoft Technologies. The SA is also responsible for researching new technologies and providing recommendations to management around the uptake of those technologies The SA reviews business projects to understand whether they will have a significant technical impact, and provides project estimates for SA resources that will participate on the project. Additionally, the SA will have input and responsibilities across a range of cross-functional DevOps / Agile areas, including release management and source code management (SCM)

Responsibilities • Own and operate framework components including thick-client, web, services, service bus, and batch systems • Support and maintain enterprise frameworks, identifying and implementing enhancements for scalability and performance • Provide production support, diagnosing and resolving performance and system issues • Assist in the development of architectural designs aligned with enterprise standards • Advise teams on best practices for framework usage and technology integration • Support agile DevOps release management processes and coordinate software deployments • Lead cross-functional collaboration to promote agile delivery practices • Mentor and guide development teams in agile and technical best practices • Coordinate planning, resource management, and risk escalation across teams
