The Vice President of Supply Chain is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of the internal supply chain operations across the organization. This includes procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution for HVAC equipment and related components. The VP will develop and execute a supply chain strategy aligned with the company’s growth objectives, ensuring cost‑effective, timely, and quality‑driven supply of products to customers.

$200,000+ Annually DOE, plus potential short- and long-term incentives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement long- and short-term supply chain strategies to support the company’s business goals and market expansion plans.

Lead transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, service levels, and profitability across the internal supply chain.

Partner with senior leadership across sales, finance, IT, and operations to align supply chain strategy with company-wide objectives.

Procurement and Vendor Management

Direct sourcing strategies for products, parts, and materials; negotiate supplier contracts to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.

Maintain relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers.

Monitor supplier performance and enforce compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs).

Facilitate pricing negotiations and ensure high level of supplier reliability.

Inventory and Demand Planning

Collaborate with sales and finance on demand forecasting, inventory planning, and replenishment strategies across multiple warehouses and distribution centers while monitoring obsolescence and mitigating through proactive campaigns.

Ensure inventory accuracy and optimal stock levels to support service levels while minimizing carrying costs.

Drive collaboration between Sales and Supply Chain to preempt fluctuations to normal business patterns.

Distribution and Logistics

Responsible for direct management of distribution centers and optimization to ensure timely delivery and minimal transportation costs.

Manage third‑party logistics (3PL) relationships and evaluate logistics KPIs regularly.

Oversee fleet management, route planning, and delivery service models for inventory distribution.

Technology and Systems

Champion the use of supply chain management systems (e.g., ERP, WMS, TMS) to drive transparency and efficiency.

Collaborate with IT to identify and implement tools for improved supply chain analytics and reporting.

Team Development

Build and mentor a high-performing supply chain organization.

Set goals and performance standards for team members across procurement, planning, warehousing, and logistics.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or related field; MBA preferred.

10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience in managing complex supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, and subcontract management.

Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent a plus.

Industry experience in HVAC distribution or a closely related sector (e.g., industrial distribution, building materials).

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Strong knowledge of supply chain practices, logistics, inventory control, and procurement in a multi‑location distribution environment.

Proven success in reducing costs, improving service levels, and leading organizational change.

Analytical mindset with proficiency in supply chain KPIs, forecasting, and business intelligence tools.

Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to enable interconnectedness across the organization.

Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms.

COMPUTER SKILLS Intermediate to expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience leveraging supply chain logistics software or ERP systems. Knowledge of Infor M3 ERP system is a plus.

MATH MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a focus on data‑driven decision‑making.

ATTENDANCE DEMANDS Attendance is required Monday through Friday within normal business hours as established by management. A flexible hybrid work model may be considered after the initial training period. Consistent presence, punctuality, and coverage during absences are expected.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to handle or feel items; speak, read, and hear English. May occasionally stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Vision requirements include close and distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Moderate noise level in a typical office environment.
