Structural Engineer (Levels 2–6) – Project Engineer II through Senior Managing Engineer I Location & Employment

Location: Santa Clara, CA Employment Type: Full-time | On-site Compensation: $42.00 (hourly) – $152,000 annually (depending on level, licensure, and location) About T&S Structural

About the Opportunity

We are seeking Structural Engineers at multiple experience levels (Engineer 2 through Engineer 6) to join our growing team. This position offers opportunities to work on a variety of structural engineering projects, including new building design, seismic retrofit, and adaptive reuse. Engineers in this role will participate in the full project lifecycle—from design and analysis to construction support—while growing technical, management, and client‑facing skills in a collaborative professional environment. General Responsibilities (All Levels)

Perform structural analysis, design, and detailing for building structures. Prepare and review drawings, calculations, specifications, and project documents. Collaborate with team members, architects, and clients to ensure design quality and constructability. Interpret and apply building codes and industry standards. Participate in meetings and provide engineering input through all phases of a project. Contribute to maintaining project schedules, budgets, and technical quality. Qualifications by Level

Engineer 2 – Project Engineer II

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (ABET accredited). Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification required. 2 years of experience (or 1 year with a Master’s degree). Performs standard engineering work with supervision; assists with design setup, calculations, and model preparation. Proficient with design software (e.g., RISA, Revit, CAD).

Engineer 3 – Project Engineer III

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. EIT required; Professional Engineer (PE) designation. 3.5 years of experience, including 1 year at Engineer 2 or equivalent. Independently runs calculations, models structures, and prepares project documents. Coordinates with entry‑level engineers and supports budgeting and scheduling efforts.

Engineer 4 – Senior Engineer I

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. PE license required. 6 years of experience, including 2 years at Engineer 3 or equivalent. Designs and manages full projects; interacts with clients and leads coordination meetings. Prepares scopes, budgets, and schedules; mentors junior engineers.

Engineer 5 – Senior Engineer II

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. PE license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license. 10 years of experience, including 2 years at Engineer 4 or equivalent. Leads multiple projects of moderate to large scope; provides technical expertise and review. Supervises small teams of engineers and technicians; ensures quality control and profitability.

Engineer 6 – Senior Managing Engineer I

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. PE license required; SE license. 15 years of experience, including 2 years at Engineer 5 or equivalent. Serves as a technical specialist and organization‑wide resource. Oversees major projects or programs; mentors senior staff and contributes to strategic decisions.

Skills and Attributes (All Levels)

Strong technical understanding of structural design principles and building codes. Proficiency with structural analysis and modeling tools (RISA, Revit, etc.). Effective written and verbal communication skills. Logical problem‑solving and sound engineering judgment. Ability to collaborate in a team‑oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
