Support the implementation and optimization of Microsoft Fabric across the organization. You'll be instrumental in building semantic models, refactoring reporting systems, and ensuring data readiness for AI integration. Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to visualize financial data effectively and facilitate data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Monthly Financial Reporting:
Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, hours, timekeeping & receipts, to provide insights into the firm's financial performance.
Daily Reconciliation:
Conduct daily reconciliation of financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
Ad Hoc Reporting:
Generate ad hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by senior management or other stakeholders to support decision-making processes.
Research Current Reporting:
Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in financial reporting and analysis, incorporating new methodologies and tools to enhance reporting processes.
Preferred Skills of the Data Engineer: Microsoft Fabric
- Preferred; familiarity with its integration across data engineering and analytics workflows. SQL Expertise
- Writing complex queries and stored procedures; ability to select optimal functions for specific data challenges. Indexing Strategies
- Deep understanding of indexing, including effective use of covering indexes to optimize query performance. Power BI
- Proficient in DAX, performance tuning, and dashboard/report design principles (e.g., prioritizing key insights in top-left layout). Reporting Tools
- Experience with Power BI Report Builder or SSRS for paginated reports and enterprise-level reporting solutions. Data Literacy
- Solid grasp of relational database concepts, including fact and dimension tables, and building semantic models for accurate data relationships. Data Modeling
- Knowledge of Star Schema vs. Snowflake Schema design and when to apply each in a data warehouse context. ETL Processes
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines; understanding of transformation logic split between pipeline activities and stored procedures. Azure Data Factory
- Proven experience designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable data pipelines in ADF. Bonus Skills of the Data Engineer: Implementation experience with
