Adjunct Instructor, American Sign Language, UC Blue Ash College

Job Overview

Part-time adjunct faculty must be able to teach first- and second-year American Sign Language and culture courses. Depending on need and adjunct availability, an adjunct could teach a minimum of 3 credit hours up to a maximum of 9 credit hours in a semester.

Essential Functions

• On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
• Using best practices, continually evaluate student coursework.
• Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of responsibilities.
• Review and respond in a timely manner to all University-related and student communications.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree

Required Experience

One (1) year of previous teaching experience

Additional Qualifications Considered

• National Interpreter Certification, Certified Deaf Interpreter or ASLTA Certification.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree specifically in Deaf Studies, ASL, Deaf/Special Education, Second Language Instruction, Interpreting, or another related specialization.
• Teaching experience specifically at the college level.
