What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
Serve as a Life Science industry practice advocate, enhancing customer experience by understanding their risks and insurance needs
Conduct exposure evaluation, risk assessment, and pricing using a disciplined approach
Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business for Life Science risks
Collaborate with various groups within the employer to build knowledge of life science exposures and market requirements
Maintain agency and broker relationships while ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulations
What is Required (Qualifications)
High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or 6+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or 4+ years in Claims or Underwriting Support
Knowledge of line(s) of business and legal/regulatory guidelines
Experience with Microsoft Office
Bachelor's Degree with 5+ years of experience in Life Science product liability underwriting for Executive Underwriter role
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
Existing broker relationships in the East Coast region
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Demonstrated relationship‑building and active listening abilities
Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, and national/local filing regulations
Presentation skills with a solutions and service orientation
