Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California: Assistant Professor – Human Anatomy The Department of Integrative Anatomical Sciences invites applications for a full‑time, 12‑month faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the non‑tenure Clinical track. The position will begin July 1, 2023 or shortly thereafter. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have prior experience teaching human gross anatomy to health professional students. The primary responsibility will be to fulfill the department’s obligation for continued excellence in teaching human anatomy in a dissection‑based course with a clinical emphasis in an integrated medical curriculum. Successful applicants will also have teaching and advising responsibilities in the department’s M.S. and Ph.D. programs. Ability to contribute to the teaching of related anatomical sciences is desirable but not required (e.g., neuroanatomy, embryology, or histology).

Responsibilities

Teach a dissection‑based human anatomy course with clinical emphasis in an integrated medical curriculum.

Advising and teaching responsibilities in the department’s M.S. and Ph.D. programs.

Develop and maintain a productive research program with potential to attract extramural funding.

Contribute to teaching of related anatomical sciences (neuroanatomy, embryology, histology) – desirable but not required.

Qualifications

Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Anatomy or a related field.

Prior experience teaching human gross anatomy to health professional students.

Strong commitment to empirical scholarship in the anatomical sciences.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a research program capable of attracting extramural funding.

Research interests complementary to the anatomy, histology, and neuroanatomy faculty within the department (e.g., Drs. Kristian Carlson, Adam Huttenlocker, Tea Jashashvili, Addison Kemp, Myra Laird, Kristi Lewton, Craig McGowan, Biren Patel, Erik Seiffert, Ruth Wood).
