Architectural Design Senior Project Manager – Orlando Health
The Asset Strategy team is seeking an Architectural Design Senior Project Manager (PM) to join the Orlando Health Design Studio. The role focuses on the initial stages of project inception, programming, and design, including pre‑development due diligence, feasibility reviews, programming, and departmental test fits. The PM will develop standards and guidelines, conduct architectural design reviews, and perform post‑occupancy evaluations and research. This position integrates project pre‑planning and design management to enhance Orlando Health’s brand architecture while incorporating state‑of‑the‑art technology, sustainability, and resiliency strategies.

Responsibilities
Develop and manage relationships with leadership and ensure outcomes meet customer requirements
Interact with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies; obtain regulatory approvals to occupy projects
Manage large, complex projects and meet with hospital executive directors, administrators, and department heads
Evaluate and recommend design and engineering consultants for each project
Oversee design, implementation, and certification of life safety and life support systems impacting design and all life safety for guests and patients
Provide and implement solutions to complex design decisions independently
Facilitate the bidding process and contractor selection; create cost estimates, budgets, and schedules from start to finish
Review and approve all change orders, purchase orders, payments, and initiate approval trees
Control operations, monitor safety and quality controls, and review monthly status reports
Lead the team through pre‑construction, design development, and final construction phases; assemble cost estimates and schedules; conduct construction meetings through final close‑out
Ensure design teams and contractors maintain proper insurance and licensing in Florida
Maintain functional knowledge of the eBuilder project management system and mentor Facility Development Project Managers
Maintain regular, punctual attendance and compliance with Orlando Health policies and applicable federal, state, and local standards
Qualifications Education/Training:
Bachelor’s degree in building construction, architecture, or engineering. Advanced degree in Architecture or Engineering preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Certification or licensure of AIA, NCIDQ, or PE required.
Experience:
10+ years of relevant work experience in healthcare architecture.
