Base pay range $115,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr
Job Summary Project Managers are Dennis Group’s primary client contact through the entire project delivery process, from design concept through bidding, construction, and start‑up. As a Project Manager, you will ensure each project’s scope, cost, and schedule are successfully met. You will work closely with design/architect, engineering, and construction teams housed within Dennis Group to keep projects on track. The role also supports our client relationship management program, requiring strong leadership, organization, time management, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
Works autonomously on specific tasks
Managing projects from planning through commissioning, including developing key success criteria and ensuring they are achieved
Assisting with the development of project scope, budget, schedule, and critical path elements
Developing RFI, purchase/work authorizations, and maintaining client SharePoint site
Managing in‑house and consulting design teamwork products
Establishing design criteria and reviewing design and construction phase documents
Managing permits, code and regulatory approvals
Developing preliminary procurement plan, preparing bid packages, and evaluating potential project bidders
Planning and leading kick‑off meetings, determining project definition deliverables, and coordinating all project communication
Developing project outline specifications, conceptual layout, and medium engineering services proposals
Managing bid process, reviewing and approving bid packages
Maintaining “Outstanding Items Needs” list and project meeting notes
Documenting lessons learned, issuing monthly reports, and updating project forecasting tools
Reviewing and approving engineering deliverables, preliminary construction cost estimates, and monthly supplier invoices
Managing and maintaining RFI and submittal processes
Facilitating food safety risk assessments and overseeing equipment installations
Providing on‑site supervision, coordinating design team support activities, and managing change orders
Finalizing procurement plan, managing punch‑list inspections, and assembling complete project records for close‑out
Interfacing with clients and working in client facilities and construction sites
Utilizing multiple software programs (MS Office, CAD, Navisworks, MS Project, SharePoint, etc.)
Researching project management best practices and supporting talent growth within the organization
Required Education, Skills and Experience
Degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering
4‑7 years of experience within a design‑build or general contractor environment working with multiple in‑house engineering disciplines
4‑7 years of experience on MEP industrial construction projects, preferably food and beverage or pharmaceutical
Experience in building construction, project scheduling, construction estimating, and construction safety
Proven track record as a Project Manager delivering multiple projects on time and within budget
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and other design software
Familiarity with sanitary environments is a plus
Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
Must meet an overnight travel requirement of not less than 50% of the year
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Ability to stand, walk, and work on rough terrain at job sites
Capability to lift up to 15 pounds when necessary
Travel Requirement
Within the United States and Canada, frequent travel to client facilities and construction sites is required; overnight travel will be not less than 50% of the year.
