Manufacturing Engineer

to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the

Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead – Electrical Power Systems (EPS) , the Manufacturing Engineer will develop and implement optimal, cost‑effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This role supports manufacturing issues on existing product designs and new satellite mechanisms early in the design phase, providing critical design for manufacturability input, supporting testing of these assemblies, and leading the transition from design/test to build/production within the EPS component and module team.

Weekend Shift

is from Friday – Sunday 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Execute, maintain, and evolve the company manufacturing strategy and technology roadmap in line with Terran Orbital strategy.

Design and implement the production floor layout for manufacturing flight hardware, ensuring modularity and adaptability for future product evolution.

Identify capital tooling and work center capability needs and lead the effort to establish key production capabilities.

Develop production procedures/processes and manage the transition of components and module assemblies from development to production.

Break down large, complex assemblies into logical part flows of sub‑assemblies and sub‑processes.

Collaborate with design engineers, machine shop, and external vendors to create parts that are manufacturable, reliable, and source‑able.

Lead production readiness reviews for transition from development to full‑rate program production.

Advise team members on technical decisions related to the product and act as manufacturing engineer on non‑conformances and work instructions.

Write and maintain documentation such as work instructions, quality plans, and inspection requirements for scale manufacturing.

Resolve and analyze manufacturing and test discrepancies, interfacing with the quality team to address design, fabrication, and assembly issues.

Drive continuous process improvements focused on cost reduction across all production processes.

Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with existing processes or products, implementing modifications as needed.

Support space hardware testing, including tooling design and data analysis.

Act as point of contact in daily and weekly program and production meetings and provide updates to leadership.

Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline.

Minimum two (2) years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering function within a high‑reliability manufacturing environment, including at least one (1) year in electronics, electric hardware, or space hardware build and development.

Strong engineering fundamentals and a first‑principles mindset.

Design software experience (AutoCAD or SolidWorks preferred).

Data‑management software experience (Power BI, SQL, JMP desired).

Highly self‑motivated with strong written and oral communication skills.

Team‑orientated, capable of interacting effectively with technicians, engineers, and managers.

Experience with process development, facility and line layouts, PFMEA, error‑proofing, lean manufacturing, and automation implementation.

Experience with design for manufacturability, assembly, and reliability.

Experience with Aegis a plus.

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Salary Range $85,000 – $115,000 USD
